Cash App founder’s murder suspect to stand trial
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A California judge ruled Tuesday the suspect in the murder of tech executive Bob Lee will stand trial.
Nima Momeni is accused of killing the Cash App founder in April.
Prosecutors say Momeni planned the attack, driving Lee to a secluded spot and stabbing him three times. They say the attack was prompted by a dispute related to Momeni's younger sister.
But Momeni's lawyers say their client had a cordial relationship with Lee and had no reason to harm him. They said Momeni's anger was directed at another person, not Lee.
A trial date has not been set.
