Security guard beaten to death outside California nightclub

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A security guard was beaten to death outside a popular nightclub in Hollywood.

Police told CBS News Los Angeles that it happened just before closing time Sunday morning outside the club Dragonfly.

A group of about seven-to-11 people were spotted arguing with the security guard and when he fell, the group began to kick and beat him.

"As far as like clubgoers and like people who are trying to party, especially in Hollywood, you know, just typically like, you know, just to leave the violence. That's how I feel. Um, because a lot of people are tourists and sometimes like, you know, it could bring a bad representation of what Hollywood can actually bring," said one clubgoer.

He was taken to the hospital where he died. Police are still looking for the suspects.
