Cruise ship departs from California dock after hitting it

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - All aboard, it's time to set sail! The cruise ship that took a hit in San Francisco's Bay Thursday was finally cleared to set sail on Friday.

The ship, called Ruby Princess, was scheduled to depart for Alaska Thursday afternoon, but was sidelined after it made contact with the dock.

The ship received a nasty scar on the back end of the ship as a result of the crash.

After being deemed set to sail by the Coast Guard, the ship was right back on track riding the West Coast waves.
