Multiple unrelated shootings in California, leaving two people dead
HAYWARD, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Police in the California Bay Area are investigating three separate Fourth of July incidents left two people dead and at least six injured, according to police.
All of the incidents happened in Hayward, just south of Oakland.
Police received the first call at 7:40pm Pacific Time (PT) Tuesday. It was ruled a homicide by investigators.
Less than three hours later, police were called to a mass shooting. Six people suffered gunshot wounds and a suspect is in custody.
At 11:30pm PT, police were then called to the night's second homicide. No arrests were reported.
