Vice President Kamala Harris visits California fire station

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Vice President Kamala Harris is spending her Fourth of July holiday in the Southern California.

The Vice President and her husband, Doug Emhoff, visited with first responders at Fire Station 39 in Los Angeles.

Harris says her brother-in-law recently retired as a firefighter. She thanked the first responders for making sacrifices, and even risking their lives in the line of duty.

Later, Harris and the Second Gentleman posed with firefighters for a group photo.
