California’s Muscle Beach holds bodybuilding competition

VENICE, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Southern California's Muscle Beach is living up to its name for the Fourth of July holiday.

Competitors at the Mr. and Ms. Muscle Beach Bodybuilding Competition got pumping early at the Venice Beach Recreation Center Tuesday.

Events are running all day in Venice in categories including: Figure, couples, vintage swimsuit, and angel bikini.

Contestants paid $150 each to take part.
