California firefighter fight “Juniper Fire,” ordered evacuations

PERRIS, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Rapidly spreading brush fire burns structures and forces evacuations in a small California town.

The so-called "Juniper Fire" has burned just over 15 acres in the City of Perris. But firefighters say it was moving quickly and was a threat to people living nearby.

Several buildings, including homes, have burned.

Authorities have ordered evacuations in parts of Perris, which is about 20 miles southeast of Riverside.

There are no reports of injuries, and no word on what may have sparked the brush fire.
