California authorities seize illegal fireworks

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Police seized between 4,000 to 5,000 pounds of illegal fireworks from a home in Southern California.

A neighbor alerted San Bernardino police to the stash.

In addition to the fireworks, authorities say they found black powder, cash, firearms and equipment to manufacture fireworks.

Police who arrested one man say it appears children were living in the home. Investigators evacuated 48 homes while they removed the explosives.

They're now looking into where the material came from, and where the fireworks are being distributed.
