Body of missing actor found in California mountains

MOUNT BALDY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Officials in california have confirmed that a body found in the California mountains is that of missing actor Julian Sands.

Sands went missing back in January while he was hiking in the Angeles National Forest.

His remains were discovered last week by hikers on Mount Baldy.

According to the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office, the manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results.

His manager, Sarah Jackson, said in a statement that Sands "was a passionate climber" and that "he passed in a place he loved, doing what he loved."

Sands was best known for his work in films such as "Warlock," "Arachnophobia," "Leaving Las Vegas" and "A Room with a View."

Sands was 65-years-old.
