One killed and 12 other injured in CA taco stand car crash

POMONA, Calif. (NBC) - A car crashed into a food stand in Southern California Friday night, leaving one person dead and 12 other injured.

The collision took place just before 8:00pm in Pomona.

Police said a driver went into opposite lanes of traffic before crashing into a taco stand.

In addition to the man killed, 12 other people suffered injuries; three of whom were in critical condition.

Police say the driver, identified only as a 26-year-old woman from Pomona, initially fled the scene but returned an hour later to turn herself in.

It is unclear if the woman had drank, how fast she was driving, or the circumstances of the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
