Police respond to reports of active shooter at a mosque in San Diego

UPDATE (1:45 PM): Authorities in San Diego are holding a press conference to provide updates on the mosque shooting.

SAN DIEGO (NBC, KYMA) - Police are responding to reports of an active shooter at a San Diego mosque Monday.

It's happening at the Islamic Center of San Diego, and while details are very limited at this time, police say the threat is now neutralized.

Two senior law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the matter say at least one suspected shooter is dead.

It is unclear if there are additional injuries or deaths.

A reunification location has been set up and people in the surrounding neighborhoods are advised to shelter in place and to avoid the area.
