Tiger Woods arrested and charged with DUI following rollover crash in Florida

UPDATE (3:05 PM): Golf superstar Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with DUI following a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida.

According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, Woods is now in the Martin County Jail following his arrest.

Deputies say he tried to pass a pickup truck on a narrow road, but ended up colliding with it flipping his SUV.

Neither driver was hurt.

Woods faces charges for DUI with property damage and refusing a urinalysis, even though he blew 0.0 on the breathalyzer and officers found no drugs or alcohol in his vehicle.

As for his stay in jail, Florida statute requires he be held for eight hours, and Sheriff John Budensiek says Woods won't be getting any special treatment.

"Our DUI investigators came to the scene here and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment...and taken to the Martin County Jail," Sheriff Budensiek shared.

The arrest comes as Woods has been working toward another comeback after rupturing his Achilles just over a year ago, and underwent his seventh back surgery late last year.

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - Authorities in Florida are investigating a serious crash involving one of golf's biggest names.

Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash Friday afternoon on Jupiter Island.

Authorities say the vehicle overturned near Beach Road, with images from the scene showing it resting on its side.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash and has not yet said whether woods was injured.

Officials say more information is expected as the investigation continues.

This is not the first serious crash involving Woods. He was previously injured in a 2021 accident in California that left him with significant leg injuries.
