CBP: Raw eggs from Mexico cannot be brought into US
(KYMA, KECY) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are reminding the public to not bring raw eggs from Mexico into the United States.
CBP says the San Diego Field Office has seen a 158% increase in finding eggs at the border since fiscal year 2024.
"It is critical that we keep our traveling public informed to safeguard our agricultural industry while continuing to facilitate legitimate trade and travel," said Sidney Aki, CBP Director of Field Operations in San Diego.
Anyone entering the U.S. is required to show all agricultural products being taken into the country, and failure to declare the products could face fines up to $10,000.
