Border agents arrest sex offender near Calexico
CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Border Patrol agents in the desert southwest keep coming across sex offenders attempting to enter the U.S illegally.
U.S. Border Patrol says its latest victim is a man who entered one mile west of the Calexico Port of Entry. Agents arrested the man and transported him to the nearest station to check his records.
Record checks revealed he had a previous conviction for a sex crime and was removed by an immigration judge from the U.S.
As of October 2020, agents have arrested 28 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.
