USBP: 1,600 migrants encountered in Yuma over the weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents say they apprehended more than 1,600 migrants over the weekend.

Agents say people continue to come in through areas where there is no infrastructure. They say they continue to see large groups of 30 or more people illegally crossing every day along the border.

Yuma Sector continues to see human smuggling attempts along with large groups of migrants on almost a daily basis.
