Bear rescue in Arizona turns slapstick as officer topples onto sedated animal

RANCHO SAHUARITA, Ariz. (CBS, KYMA) - A neighborhood effort to remove a bear from a tree in Rancho Sahuarita, Arizona turned slapstick as one of the rescue crew toppled onto the tranquilized bear after it hit a tarp stretched out to catch it.

Footage captured by the Sahuarita Police Department shows the moment six people held a tarp under a tree while waiting for the sedated bear to fall.

The bear proved heavier than expected, hitting the ground and causing one of the crew to fall on top of the tranquilized animal.

Police said the bear was safely relocated after the clumsy extraction from the tree.
