Small passenger plane makes emergency landing along street in Arizona

MESA, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - A small passenger plane was forced to make an emergency landing along an Arizona street Tuesday.

The two-seat plane took off from Falcon Field Airport at around 8 a.m., piloted by a student pilot and an experienced flight instructor.

While in the air, the pair experienced engine failure causing them to land in the safest place possible, which happened to be on Main Street in Mesa.

The plane came down smoothly and Mesa Fire says both souls on board were uninjured, and miraculously, the plane did not hit any cars during the morning commute.

The plane sat in the middle of Main Street for an hour or so before it was moved to the parking lot of a nearby business.

It was then taken away on a flatbed trailer to go to a hangar at Falcon Field where the NTSB and FAA will be able to inspect it further.
