Hiker rescued from Camelback Mountain in Arizona due to medical emergency

PHOENIX (NBC, KYMA) - A hiker had to be rescued by helicopter from a hiking trail in Arizona Tuesday morning.

Phoenix firefighters were to the Cholla Trailhead of Camelback Mountain, saying a man was having a medical emergency.

Rescuers were able to climb up and evaluate the hiker on the trail, but since he wasn't able to climb down on his own, a Phoenix Police Department helicopter carried him down.

Firefighters say the hiker refused to be taken to the hospital.
