Car crash in Arizona kills three-year-old girl

TUCSON, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - A three-year-old girl has died after a crash on the southside of Tucson, Arizona Friday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Valencia and County Club, causing it to shut down for hours.

Video from a nearby business shows two cars traveling very fast down Valencia just moments before the crash.

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) says one person was killed in the crash.

Footage captured shows the wreckage was scattered around the intersection. One vehicle sat farther east on Valencia while another lay in two pieces, with a car seat still visible.

"What caught my attention was there is a car in half, and I can't say i've ever seen that before. So obviously it's a very serious thing. You hope everybody's okay, [but] you kind of doubt that," said Joshua Hornui, who was among many drivers detoured as the intersection remained closed for hours.

"You know, I drive these streets a lot with my family. I have kids and wife and...putting the public in danger it just makes me mad," Hornui expressed.

TPD is now asking for the public's help in finding a vehicle connected to the fatal crash.

Investigators are looking for a Dodge Challenger made between 2011 and 2023 with a dark body and paint discoloration on the roof.

The vehicle and driver did not stay at the scene following the crash.

The Charger is a vehicle of interest in the crash and could have information to help with the investigation.
