Nine hospitalized following serious crash in Arizona

PEORIA, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - Nine people were hospitalized Sunday night following a serious crash in Peoria, Arizona.

The crash happened at around 8 p.m. near 91st Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Fire crews say the crash involved a car and a truck, though details about what led up to the crash remain limited.

When first responders arrived, they found nine people injured at the scene, and all of them were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Officials say five of the victims are in critical condition while the other four suffered less severe injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
