Suspicious bag seen outside Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix

PHOENIX (CNN, KYMA) - Officials in Arizona investigated a suspicious bag left near a memorial for the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The Phoenix Police Department (PPD) were seen outside the Turning Point USA headquarters Wednesday morning.

The scene was cleared and the bomb squad was called, but after an analysis, PPD said the bag was deemed safe.

Kirk was the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA. He was shot and killed during a speaking event in Utah last week.

A public memorial for the popular conservative activist will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona Sunday.
