Arizona artist donates 1,000 paintings to homeless shelter

PHOENIX (CNN, KYMA/KECY) - An artist in Arizona is adding color to those who need it, one canvas at a time.

85-year-old Betsy Vincent recently donated more than 1,000 original paintings to Saint Vincent de Paul's De Paul Manor Shelter.

Every resident who stays there gets to take home a piece of art when they move into permanent housing. So far, 43 have taken home paintings.

"It's just so rewarding to me to make someone smile," Vincent expressed.

The shelter has served 159 residents since opening a year ago. To learn more about this, click here.
