MGN

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered the flags at all state buildings to half-staff Monday.

According to a press release, this is to honor Gabriel Facio, a police officer with the Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD), who was shot in the line of duty last week.

"I'm devastated by Officer Facio's passing. My heart goes out to his family, the Apache Junction Police Department and fellow law enforcement," said Governor Hobbs.

Officer Facio, who is a three-year veteran at AJPD, leaves behind a wife, two children and a grandchild, according to the press release.

Flags will be at half-staff until sunset.
