Arizona Governor Hobbs orders flags at all state buildings to half-staff

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered at half-staff on Thursday.

This is in part of National Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week, which, according to a press release, Governor Hobbs recognized.

Hobbs issued the following statement regarding the order saying, "Together, we remember the peace officers in Arizona and across the country who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage and service will not be forgotten. Let's honor them by upholding the ideals they defended."

In addition, "individuals, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to join in" the tributes, according to the press release.
