Six people arrested in Arizona for child sexual abuse

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - The FBI Phoenix Office has announced the arrest of six people as part of a nationwide effort to capture child sex abuse offenders and to combat child exploitation.

FBI Phoenix said the arrests were part Operation Restore Justice, which was coordinated by FBI field offices across the country, with 205 people being arrested nationwide.

During the operation, FBI Phoenix says they arrested six people between April 28 and May 2 in the following places across Arizona:

  • Sells, Arizona: Suspect allegedly surreptitiously recorded and took photographs of his girlfriend's two daughters, one of whom was a minor, while they were sleeping in their bedrooms.

  • Clarkdale, Arizona: Suspect was arrested for alleged online enticement of multiple victims, all of whom were minors, and production of child pornography.

  • Phoenix: Suspect was arrested for the alleged possession and distribution of child pornography.

  • Salt River Indian Reservation: Suspect was arrested for the alleged production and possession of child pornography, and sexual abuse of a minor.

  • Navajo Nation in Arizona: Suspect was arrested for the alleged aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

  • Tucson, Arizona: Suspect allegedly distributed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to a popular social media network. When the FBI served a search warrant, they found not only CSAM, but also cocaine and automatic weapons.

"Operation Restore Justice underscored our unwavering commitment to protecting children," said Jose Perez, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Phoenix Office. "Every arrest in these child sexual abuse cases not only delivers justice, it sends a powerful message: Crimes against children will not be tolerated."
