Funeral held for former Representative Raúl Grijalva in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A funeral was held Wednesday morning in Tucson for former U.S. Congressman Raúl Grijalva from Arizona.

Grijalva's funeral was held at Saint Augustine Cathedral.

There were many dignitaries in attendance, including Governor Katie Hobbs, Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Grijalva's daughter also spoke, sharing what she learned from her father.

"He taught us to live life with kindness, compassion and humor. To treat people with dignity always," she said.

Grijalva died earlier this month after a yearlong battle with cancer.

He was 77 years old.
