Gila Bend to restrict lanes for ADOT road work

MGN

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is making drivers aware of road work in the Gila Bend area.

In a press release, the road work will start on Monday, December 19 and will go until Friday, January 6.

The work will also occur on Interstate 8 (I-8), Mondays through Fridays from 5:00am to 6:00pm.

This is for maintenance crews and contractors to apply an oil-based sealant to the road.

With this in mind, I-8 will shift to one lane between Freeman Road and milepost 148.

There will be a 14-foot vehicle width restriction in place and speed limit of 45 miles per hour (mph).

Overall, ADOT wants to advise drivers to expect delays, slow down and use caution while maintenance work is underway.
