(KYMA, KECY) - The Human Rights Campaign PAC (HRC PAC) announced its endorsement of Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly for reelection to the United States Senate.

HRC PAC says it's dedicated to engaging its supporters, members and volunteers to rally the 1.3 million Equality Voters in Arizona in support of Sen. Kelly and other pro-equality candidates on the ballot in November.

"The Human Rights Campaign is proud to endorse U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly for reelection from Arizona. Sen. Kelly has been a steadfast advocate for LGBTQ+ rights throughout his time in public life," said Human Rights Campaign Ariz. State Director Bridget Sharpe. "Arizonans know that the fight for equality is far from over. We need to reelect Sen. Kelly to help ensure we have a pro-equality majority in the U.S. Senate and deliver on our nation's founding promise of full equality for all."

According to HRC PAC's statement, Sen. Kelly is a cosponsor of the Equality Act, an important federal legislation that would secure explicit protections for LGBTQ+ people under the nation's existing civil rights laws.

"Every Arizona deserves to live their lives as who they are, free from any discrimination. In the Senate I'm working to make that a reality by standing up to renewed attacks against the LGBTQ+ community and supporting the Equality Act," said Sen. Kelly. "I'm grateful to have the support of the Human Rights Campaign as we continue this important work."
