Arizona Election Day 2021, How to vote and a look at some ballot measures

What to look for in certain counties

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The first Tuesday of November means that it's Election Day.

Voting in Arizona requires being at least 18 years old, an American citizen, and a resident of Arizona. A resident must also register 29 days before the election, as same-day registration is not allowed in Arizona, and proof of citizenship must be provided when voting in person.

Voters may register in person or online and may check their registration status here.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.


11 local ballot measures will be included, with Maricopa County's key issues including where certain funds go to while Pima County only has a couple of ballot measures.

Here are some highlighted measures:

Chandler, Arizona will ask multiple questions on how its funds will be used.

  • A yes vote supports the city issuing over $72,000,000 in bonds to build and improve recreational facilities such as city parks. The city will impose a tax to pay back the bonds.

Gilbert, Arizona also asks about city improvement projects.

  • A yes vote supports the city to build and improve infrastructure projects such as improving streets and drainage systems, with a tax being imposed to pay for its bonds.

Proposition 206 is in regards to raising Tuscon's minimum wage and does not affect the state.

  • A yes vote supports increasing the city's minimum from $12.15 to $15 starting Janaury 1, 2025 and increases every January after.

Proposition 410 affects compensation for the city's mayor and city council.

  • A yes vote supports increasing the mayor's compensatino from $42,000 to $54,000 and the city council's compensation from $24,000 to $36,000 beginning December 4, 2023.
