Los Angeles County deputy fatally shoots woman, wounds man

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a woman after she stabbed him in the face at a gas station. The deputy also shot and wounded a man during the confrontation early Friday morning. The deputy was treated at a hospital for the stab wounds and has been released. In a separate incident hours later, a man was shot by at least one deputy in the city of Santa Clarita. The shooting occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. The man’s condition, and what prompted the shooting, was not immediately available. The names of the deputies and the people who were shot were not made public.
