Neiman Marcus closes flagship store in Dallas

DALLAS (NBC, KYMA) - After more than 100 years in Downtown Dallas, the flagship Neiman Marcus store is closing Wednesday.

The retailer was founded in Dallas in 1907 and has occupied the location on Main and Ervay Street since the company rebuilt there after a 1914 fire.

The downtown building became the brand's public face and a landmark for shoppers, tourists and special events, including the well-known Zodiac Room restaurant.

City and downtown leaders spent months trying to keep a store in the building after parent company Saks Global first moved to close it in 2025.

Those talks included ideas for a smaller store and other uses on upper floors. Saks later said the decision was final.

In recent days, shoppers, tourists and history enthusiasts have been stopping by to take photos, revisit memories and say goodbye to a landmark that has long been associated with the city's identity.
