Deputy shoots suspect at Evergreen Middle School

SPOKANE, Wash. (CBS, KYMA) - A scary and uncertain situation for parents of students at Evergreen Middle School. 

At 11:30 Tuesday morning, Sheriff John Nowels said they responded to a call about a suspicious person possible armed at Evergreen Middle School.

A deputy was on scene 5 minutes later and said a male matching the description aggressed towards the deputy and had what appeared to be gun. The deputy shot and killed the suspect.
No students or faculty were injured. 

Authorities say they also found what they called a suspicious package outside the school.

Deputies announced they were going to transport kids on busses to the Valley Real Life Church on Barker Road. 

Parents quickly made their way to the church, where Central Valley School District staff coordinated parents checking in and picking up their kids. 
After a few hours, everyone reunited and went home.
