Yuma Catholic books trip to state championship

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Shamrocks secured their place in the 3A Arizona Baseball Championship game with an 8-4 victory over Northwest Christian in the second game of the state semifinals.

Yuma Catholic took control early, scoring four runs in the top of the third inning to build a 4-0 advantage. Their offense continued to produce throughout the game, finishing with 15 total hits.

Northwest Christian managed seven hits, but the Crusaders were unable to overcome the Shamrocks’ strong offensive performance and early momentum.

With the win, the Shamrocks advance to the state championship game for the third consecutive year. They will face the winner of the semifinal series between Valley Christian and Kingman.
