Temperatures sitting in the mid 90s for beginning of week

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Happy Easter Sunday to all who celebrate! Weather for the holiday is turning out to be fairly nice.

Temperatures are peaking in the low-to-mid 90s across the Desert Southwest, a little warmer than what we were tracking, but not too far from the norm for early April.

Clouds have stayed out of the region for most of Sunday, and the skies should be clear for the late afternoon. We will most likely see cloudy conditions throughout the evening and into Monday morning.

Overnight lows are tracking a little higher than what we've experienced for the past couple of days with Yuma expected to drop down to 66°F and El Centro only reaching 68°F.

Just north of El Centro, Imperial will see a noteworthy difference, as they're trending to drop to 64°F. Wellton and Blythe are expected to hit the low 60s.

Temperatures for the beginning of the week are going to be very similar to Sunday, with both Yuma and El Centro getting up to 94°F in the afternoon.

There's not too much variance from that across the Desert Southwest, so everyone will be going through extremely similar conditions in that regard.

Wind gusts are going to hold off for Sunday night, but the Imperial Valley will experience higher early morning breezes, getting to at or above 15 mph.

These will carry throughout most of the day, while Yuma County is going to follow suit in the late morning, early afternoon time frame.

Heading down the line, if you are preparing for next weekend, we are starting to track potential rainfall in Yuma and El Centro Saturday.

These sit at around a 20-30% chance to hit the region, and may be due to change throughout the week, but something to keep in mind.
