Three U.S. service members killed in Operation Epic Fury

(NBC, KYMA) - Three U.S. service members were killed in the military combat operation which left Iran's supreme leader dead.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that five others were seriously wounded in the campaign dubbed "Operation Epic Fury," which happened in Kuwait.

CENTCOM also said several others suffered minor shrapnel injuries and concussions.

The military did not identify the service members and said major combat operations continue.

Earlier, CENTCOM announced that an Iranian Jamaran-class Corvette was struck by U.S. forces as part of the operation.

The military said that the ship was sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman.
