Imperial Valley winds picking up tonight, heat continues to rise across Desert Southwest

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It's another day of above average temperatures in the region. While we are not quite at record-breaking temperatures Saturday (97°F in 1987), Sunday may set a new high for the date (93°F in 1986).

Temperatures are maxing out in the low-to-mid 90s Saturday. For Saturday night, those measurements are tracking to drop into the high 50s and low 60s.

Along with these temperature trends, the Imperial Valley will see stronger wind gusts in the late night window where gusts will get into the 15-18 mph range.

Yuma County winds will remain in the single digits and Imperial County will join them there as early Sunday morning rolls around.
