Two dead, three injured during hockey game in Rhode Island
A hockey arena in Pawtucket became the latest scene of gun violence in the United States
PAWTUCKET, R.I. — A shooting during a hockey game Monday afternoon in Pawtucket left two people dead and three others injured, authorities said.
Police said the violence occurred at a local arena and appeared to stem from a family dispute. Of the two people who died, one included a young girl.
The gunman also died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities.
All students participating in the game were reported safe.
The three injured victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and were listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds, the hospital system said.
The incident remains under investigation by law enforcement officials in Rhode Island.
