UPDATE (3:10 PM): Five-year-old Liam Ramos and his father are back home in Minnesota Sunday after being released from immigration custody.

Video captured by Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) shows the moment Ramos and his father walked out of Dilley Detention Center Saturday night, being escorted by the representative.

The two were taken into custody on January 20 after encountering immigration agents as they returned home from Ramos' school in Minnesota, an image of the boy in his blue hat and Spider-Man backpack drew widespread attention.

They were transferred to Dilley Detention Center in Texas, and on Saturday, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery ordered their release saying the Trump Administration had until Tuesday to do so.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said, at the time of their detainment, they were conducting a "targeted operation" to arrest Ramos' father.

DHS claims Ramos was "abandoned" by the child's mother who refused multiple attempts to claim custody of Ramos even after officers assured her she would not be arrested.

Ramos' mother denied those claims saying the federal agents were using her son as "bait" to get her out of the home where they would also arrest her, leaving her other child alone in the house.

(NBC, KYMA) - A federal judge has ordered the release of five-year-old Liam Ramos and his father from immigration custody.

The boy's immigration case drew widespread attention last month when this photo of him wearing a blue hat went viral online.

The photo was captured while he was taken into custody by immigration authorities in Minnesota as he was on his way home from school.

The boy and his father have since been transferred to a family residential center in Texas.

On Saturday, Federal Judge Fred Biery ordered the Trump Administration to release them by Tuesday.

In his order, the judge referred to the boy's detention writing the "lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency," and then added, "the rule of law be damned."
