Burglars ram through L.A. barbershop, steal tools, equipment and owner’s cat
LOS ANGELES (CBS, KYMA) - CCTV footage captured a ram raid at a Los Angeles barbershop early Thanksgiving morning, with a trio stealing thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment, along with the store owner's beloved cat.
According to Joe Gomez, the owner of LA Fresh Cuts, the suspects pulled up to the front of the shop on Thursday in a beige Toyota pickup truck which they rammed through the store's glass doors.
Seconds later, three masked men exited the truck and ran inside the barbershop to ransack the place. They even grabbed a kennel containing the owner's cat, Simba, before hastily placing the feline onto the truck bed and driving away.
In a post to Facebook Monday, Gomez pleaded for help to find Simba.
"Simba is a family member to me and I really hope he is found and brought back to me. He is very vocal and it sounds are not like any other cat so if anyone is hiding him, I'm sure he being very loud right now and I'm hoping that can help us find him," Gomez expressed.
A GoFundMe was set up to help Gomez. It has a goal of $4,000, with over $1,700 raised so far. If anyone would like to donate to the GoFundMe, click here.
