FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Excessive heat warning coming over the weekend

As the area comes closer to the holiday weekend, more very hot temperatures are coming along with steady winds

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Near normal temperatures will prevail through Thursday, with breezy to locally windy conditions continuing through this evening.

As a high pressure system builds over the region by the weekend and persisting through the 4th of July, hotter temperatures will take hold with widespread highs between 110-115 degrees.

Slightly cooler temperatures are possible by the middle of next week.
