WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — It’s the first day of jury selection in a Delaware courtroom in a defamation trial involving Fox News. Dominion Voting Systems is seeking to hold Fox responsible for repeatedly airing false claims related to the 2020 presidential election. Potential jurors were asked whether they were viewers of the network and had any opinions about allies of former President Donald Trump who helped spread the allegations after his 2020 loss. It’s not clear how many of the potential jurors might have been dismissed after answering the questions because Thursday’s jury selection process was closed to the media and public. Dominion’s $1.6 billion lawsuits alleges Fox damaged Dominion by repeatedly airing false allegations about Dominion’s machines and the software they used.
