Local farm workers eligible to receive stimulus check

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Local farm workers can receive a stimulus check from the Department of Agriculture.

An everyday laborer who worked during the pandemic will receive $600 in compensation.

Comite de Bienestar is helping them apply.

The only requirement is to have worked legally any day from January 2020 through December 2022.

"This is not exclusive to field workers, you can be a tractor driver, cooling center worker. Everyone that has something to do with the agriculture industry," said Comite de Bienestar Director Tony Reyes.

More than 2,000 Yuma County farm workers will benefit from this measure.
