Man indicted for smuggling over 170 pounds of meth across border
PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - A 19-year-old man of San Luis, Ariz. was indicted for possession with intent to distribute and import methamphetamine on January 3.
Isrrael Millan applied to enter the U.S. at the San Luis Port of Entry and Customs and Border Protection searched his vehicle to find over 175 pounds of methamphetamine on December 9, 2022.
Officers found 170 cellophane-wrapped packages hidden in the quarter panels, doors, rocker panels, firewall, and dashboard of the vehicle.
The U.S. Attorney's Office District of Arizona says a conviction on each charged offense carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10,000,000 fine.
