AWC builds new residence hall for students
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College (AWC) broke ground on a new dorm for its students.
The new building will replace the De Anza residence hall.
It will be a three-story complex with more than 200 dormitories.
It has a price tag of nearly $20 million.
"Housing students at AWC is very important to our program and we have a long history of housing students here back to the 60s. One of the few community colleges that actually do have students. so, it's very important to our culture to have students living on site," says AWC Facilities Management Director Steve Eckert.
The building will be completed by Spring 2024.
