Repairs and lane restrictions on I-8 in Wellton starting Oct. 24

Restrictions and construction begin on Monday, October 24 at 6 a.m.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Department of Transportation announced there will be lane restrictions for repairs on the I-8 near Wellton starting on Monday, October 24 at 6 a.m.
There will be crews replacing the pavement and completing spot repairs as part of the Interstate 8: Wellton to Avenue 36E pavement life extension.
Construction will end late winter 2023, with restrictions occurring Mondays to Fridays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Here are the restrictions:
- The I-8 will have one lane available in both directions between milepost 29 near Wellton and milepost 36.6 on Avenue 36E.
- 14-foot vehicle width restriction in place.
- Speed limit reduced to 45 mph.
- Restrictions will be in 3-mile increments.
- Restrictions lifted on Veterans Day, the Thanksgiving holiday from Nov. 23-25, 28.
