| Candidate Bio | "I grew up in Imperial County and attended local public schools (elementary, junior high, high school, and Imperial Valley College). I grew up in a large family as I am the youngest of nine children. I was raised by two amazing parents who taught me perseverance and the importance of family. My father was a mariachi musician and a carpenter and my mother was a housewife. Coming from a large family I learned that different people have different perspectives. I learned to respect other points of view while simultaneously staying true to what I believe. I believe in building bridges to the community.
