Imperial County Area Agency on Aging is now accepting applications

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Area Agency on Aging (ICAAA) announced that it is accepting applications for an At-Large member position on their Advisory Council.

Currently, the ICAAA has one vacant At-Large member position, and such persons would be representative of senior interest from the community at large.

According to a press release, the ICAAA Advisory Council serves to advise the ICAA on issues important to Imperial County seniors and their caregivers.

In addition, the Advisory Council members supports the ICAAA with the following purposes:

  • Annual public hearings
  • Needs assessments
  • Recommendations
  • Program monitoring
  • Advocacy

Furthermore, the composition of the Advisory Council is prescribed in the laws and regulations of the Older Americans Act (Federal) and Older Californians Act (State).

More importantly, all members are responsible to participate in all activities to the council, including the development, revision, and approval of the Area Plan.

If anyone is interested, you can apply online at www.aaa24.org or at the Imperial County Area Agency on Aging office, located at 778 West State Street in El Centro.

The applications are due on Monday, October 10, 2022 and the elections will begin during the regularly scheduled Advisory Council meeting in October 2022.
