Gowan Science Academy receives grant of $10K

A local school received more funding for science projects to help further their education

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Gowan Science Academy earned a grant of $10,000 from Saxton Bradley Incorporated.

Kids from Kinder through 8th grade will have more tools to help continue their learning experience.

"They're buying incubators for eggs, they're buying food for animals, building ray beds to grow vegetables. So in a number of different ways and we're very pleased to see how they're using the funds," said Saxton Bradley Inc. CEO Raymond Near.

Gowan Science Academy was one of just five schools from the west coast to receive the grant.

Saxton Bradley Inc. said "it's looking forward to helping more schools in our area."
