Yuma Fire Department receives donation of paramedic equipment
Amanda Aguirre and the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. donated eight advanced UESCOPE intubation scopes
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Yuma Fire Department (YFD) thanks Amanda Aguirre and the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. for generously donating eight advanced UESCOPE intubation scopes which will allow YFD front line paramedic and reserve units to be equipped and prepared.
These devices are valued at a total of $14,000 and will be able to give paramedics visual feedback when guiding the intubation tubes into place and is meant to maintain an open airway for ill patients with any airway problems where it causes them to not breathe on their own said YFD.
While the scopes have small video monitors that will help paramedics see where the intubation tubes are going to be placed, this scope will help improve paramedic training and the video laryngoscopes will go into service when training is completed, according to YFD.
"The Yuma Fire Department sincerely appreciates the continued support and assistance we receive from Ms. Aguirre and the Regional Center for Border Health” said Fire Chief Dusty Fields.
