Yuma County offers sandbags to community on September 9

The Yuma County Public Works will hand out sandbags on Friday, September 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County will be giving out filled sandbags to the community starting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9 at the Yuma County Public Works facility at 4343 S. Avenue 5 1/2 E.

Filled sandbags will be available to county residents starting at 8 a.m. ending at 5 p.m., residents are allowed a maximum of eight sandbags per vehicle.

There will be a flood watch in effect from September 9 at 8 a.m. MST to September 11 at 12 a.m. MST, according to the National Weather Service.
